What is discovery zone 1990s?

Discovery Zone was a chain of indoor children's amusement parks that operated in the United States during the 1990s. It was founded in 1989 by Ronald Matsch and later acquired by Viacom, Inc in 1993.

Discovery Zone's play areas included a variety of interactive, soft-play equipment, such as tunnels, slides, ball pits, and obstacle courses. The parks also had party rooms for birthdays and special events. Children could engage in physical activity while exploring the play space.

At its peak, Discovery Zone had over 300 locations across the United States. However, the company experienced financial difficulties in the mid-1990s due to oversaturation of the market and a decline in consumer interest. Viacom eventually filed for bankruptcy in 1996, and most Discovery Zone locations closed by the end of the decade. The brand was discontinued in 1999, and the remaining few locations were sold to other companies.
